Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of ChessCoach, available on the App Store for iOS and macOS.

Using ChessCoach

Chess analysis, board scanning, and puzzles are free to use. You must be able to form a binding agreement to use the app (generally, be old enough in your jurisdiction to enter into a contract or have a parent/guardian's permission). Don't use the app to abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent the managed coaching service's usage limits.

Subscriptions & billing

ChessCoach Pro is offered as Weekly ($3.99), Monthly ($8), and Annual ($59) auto-renewing subscriptions, billed through your Apple ID. Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled. Manage or cancel anytime in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and renewal charges are made within 24 hours before the current period ends, unless canceled beforehand.

As an alternative to ChessCoach Pro, you may bring your own Google Gemini API key at no cost to us — this is a direct relationship between you and Google, governed by Google's own terms.

ChessCoach's coaching, move grading, and evaluations are educational tools, not a guarantee of chess improvement or outcome. Analysis is grounded in the Stockfish chess engine and, for written explanations, a language model — both can occasionally be wrong or incomplete.

ChessCoach is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
